The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended the use of four AI solutions for detecting fractures on X-rays in NHS clinical practice.
The guidance, published as part of NICE’s Early Value Assessment (EVA) process, aims to facilitate access to promising AI technologies while further evidence on their effectiveness is gathered.
The recommended AI tools include:

NICE also reviewed Qure.ai’s qMSK, but stated that additional research is needed before it can be fully endorsed for NHS use.
Early Value Assessment framework
The EVA framework is designed to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven innovations while ensuring that they meet safety and efficacy standards. This approach allows the NHS to trial AI tools in clinical settings, supporting real-world evidence generation to refine their use.
